KIDS COUNT® County Profiles

Empowering Maine's Future: Data-Driven Insights for Children's Well-Being

The Maine Children’s Alliance is part of the national KIDS COUNT® network of the Annie E. Casey Foundation, which provides reliable, up-to-date data indicators on the well-being of children in Maine and across the nation through an accessible online platform. This County Profile highlights those indicators for which county-level data exists and where progress can be clearly measured. By understanding these indicators and using them to guide policy decisions, we can help ensure that Maine’s children and families have the best opportunity to thrive.

2025 COUNTY PROFILES

Disclaimer: On 2/9/2026, the 2025 County Profiles were updated to reflect corrected data. The affected data point was the 2023 Percentages for Children Receiving Dental Care. The denominator used in the prior publication differed from that used in the 2020 percentage calculation, rendering the percentages incomparable. This resulted in changes to the Health, Safety, + Well-Being Section Rank and the Overall Rank. We apologize for this error, and appreciate your understanding.
