Maine Children’s Alliance is pleased to welcome Dr. S. Waleck Dalpour to our Board of Directors. Dr. Dalpour began his board service in April, and we are grateful to board member Ashley Montgomery for nominating him to join MCA’s leadership.

For more than 30 years, Maine Children’s Alliance has worked to improve the well-being of Maine children and families through data-driven solutions, community-informed change, and policy advocacy. As we continue that work, we rely on board members who bring deep experience, sound judgment, and a shared commitment to building a stronger future for every child in Maine.

Dr. Dalpour brings an impressive background in business education, nonprofit financial management, human resources and people management, and strategic planning. He has built a long and distinguished career at the University of Maine at Farmington, where he has served as Professor of Business, Pre-Professional M.B.A. Program Advisor, and Chairperson of both the Department and Division of Social Sciences and Business. His career also includes faculty roles at the University of Northern Colorado, Southern New Hampshire University, and the University of Maine at Le Mans in France, as well as international academic collaborations with universities across Europe and beyond.

Dr. Dalpour’s educational background reflects the same breadth and depth as his professional career. He earned degrees in economics and labor law from the University of Mazandaran in Iran, followed by an M.B.A. with a concentration in strategic management and a doctoral degree in higher educational administration, with a concentration in strategic management and international business, from the University of Northern Colorado. He also completed post-doctoral studies in multinational corporations and international human resources management.

Among Dr. Dalpour’s many career highlights is his decades-long commitment to preparing students for leadership in business, management, and strategy. His work has extended well beyond the classroom through consulting, international teaching, strategic planning, and community service. His CV reflects current and past leadership and service with MaineHealth, Franklin Memorial Hospital, the Greater Franklin Development Corporation, Gould Academy’s Strategic Planning Committee, Literacy Volunteers of Maine, and local economic development and school budgeting efforts.

That depth of experience will be especially valuable as MCA continues to strengthen our internal systems, steward our resources responsibly, and plan for long-term impact. Dr. Dalpour’s understanding of financial management, human resources, people management, strategic planning, and community leadership will help MCA continue to grow as an effective, mission-driven organization working on behalf of Maine’s children and families.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Dalpour to the Board of Directors and look forward to the wisdom, experience, and care he will bring to this role. Please join us in welcoming Dr. S. Waleck Dalpour to Maine Children’s Alliance.
