Educare Central Maine , a high quality learning and development center for children birth to age five, provided an inspiring location for the event. It is intended to inform citizens and policymakers about the best ways to secure positive outcomes for children across all domains of child well-being. [caption id="attachment_1193" align="alignright" width="150"] Map Child advocates are needed in every legislative district in Maine.[/caption] Because children can’t vote, they must rely on adults in their communities to advocate on their behalf. The Convention, supported by the Bingham Program and the Buffet Early Childhood Fund , offered a chance for participants to raise their collective voices in support of Maine kids and families. The following priorities were discussed at the Convention: ❋ Access to high quality early care and education ❋ Promoting children’s health ❋ Preparing our students for the future ❋ Supporting family economic security MCA will be working with child advocates in legislative districts across Maine to make sure that voters and candidates are thinking of what is best for children throughout the election season and beyond.
