"Giving Maine Kids a Voice"
Founded in 1994, MCA is a nonpartisan,
data-focused advocate for public policies and practices that improve the lives of Maine’s children, youth and families. Through data collection and analysis on children and their health, economic and education status, MCA seeks to empower policymakers to make informed decisions on policy and practices that affect Maine kids.
Our non-profit brings diverse groups together in coalitions to support policy initiatives that benefit children, provide oversight in state policy arenas and serve as a resource on children and family policy issues at the local and national levels.
Collaboration & Community
Based in Augusta, MCA is supported by individuals, foundations, businesses and organizations with a commitment to the health and well-being of Maine’s children.
MCA salutes all those in our community who "stick their necks out" for Maine kids, youth and families, which is represented by the orange giraffe in our logo. Each October, we celebrate all the community members who have done great work to support Maine kids at the Champions for Children Event.
At the event, we present the Annual Giraffe Awards, honoring the unsung heroes who have gone above and beyond in their advocacy or services for Maine kids. We hope to see you there!
