Mental Health

In recent years, the Maine Children's Alliance has worked with the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to find ways to improve the mental health system serving Maine's children.

MCA has gathered stakeholders together to discuss the strengths of Maine's children's mental health system, and how policymakers and managers might build on those strengths to improve mental health outcomes for children and their families. MCA has helped identify ways to build a more integrated system to help Maine kids and families get the supports and services they need.

Some of the products of our work in children's mental health include these reports:

A Guide to Challenges in Children's Mental Health: The Views of Maine Stakeholders 2011  We offer this guide as a reference to help legislators and other policymakers understand the behavioral health issues facing our children and their families.
