Christopher Stenberg


Christopher Stenberg, MBChB, Director Ambulatory and Community Pediatrics, The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center, Portland, ME

Since 1998, Christopher Stenberg has served as director of Ambulatory and Community Pediatrics at The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland, ME. In addition, he holds a faculty position as a clinical assistant professor at the University Of Vermont College Of Medicine. He serves on a number of committees and groups within the children's hospital, including the Education, Clinical Services and Residency Review Committees, as well as the MaineHealth Community Health Improvement Council, Medical Center's Emergency Department Pediatric Improvement and Pediatric Critical Care Improvement committees.


Dr. Stenberg is a member of the Ambulatory Pediatric Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Academy of Pediatrics Maine Chapter. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Maine Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the board of Kids Legal Aid of Maine. Dr. Stenberg is the recipient of The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital Resident's Award for General Pediatrician of the Year in 2000 and 2004.


Dr. Stenberg is a graduate of the University of Auckland, School of Medicine in Auckland, New Zealand with degrees in medicine and human biology. He completed American Board of Pediatrics residency requirements at The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. Prior to his position at The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital, Dr. Stenberg practiced in Sydney, Australia. His original training was at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand, the Prince of Wales Children's Hospital in Randwick, New South Wales, Australia, and the Royal Hospital for Women in Paddington, New South Wales, Australia.
