RATING SCALE FOR LEGISLATION / OTHER POSITIONS

  1. 1. Top Priority: Testify (oral and written), lobby individual legislators, organize others for hearing or other important events, attend work sessions
  2. 2. Priority: Testify (oral and written), lobby members, attend work sessions
  3. 3. Testify: (oral or written), watch to see how issue develops
  4. 4. Watch and report
  5. 5. Take no action

Basis for rating:

  1. 1. How does it apply to our advocacy positions?
  2. 2. What are our resources?
  3. 3. How important is it to our public agenda?
  4. 4. How critical is OUR action on the issue? Who else is working on it or
    providing leadership?
  5. 5. How would this affect our new organization's growth, relationships and
    reputation?

Measure everything based on our Advocacy Principles.

Set Policy based on our guidelines (as developed).
