MAINE CHILDREN'S ALLIANCE HOSTS
GOVERNOR-ELECT BALDACCI AND BUSINESS LEADERS

Baldacci will Unveil Plan for Maine Children and Families

The Maine Children's Alliance will host governor-elect Baldacci at its bi-annual Business Advisory Group meeting at the Senator Inn in Augusta on Wednesday, November 13th from 8:00 - 9:30am. Business leaders will gather from all over the state to hear Baldacci's plans for Maine's children and families.

"We have been working with governor-elect Baldacci for many months now on a plan to make our government work better for the children of Maine. We are very excited by his commitment to improve Maine's troubled mental health, juvenile justice and child welfare services. Under his leadership we foresee a much brighter future for Maine's most vulnerable citizens," says Elinor Goldberg, Executive Director of MCA.

The breakfast will be hosted by Business Advisory Group co-chairs Rick Warren, Publisher of the Bangor Daily News; Betsey Timm Greenstein, President of Fleet Maine; Jim Dowe, President of the Bangor Savings Bank and Alan Cartwright, General Manager of WGME 13. "This breakfast is a fantastic opportunity for business leaders to become aware of the issues facing children and families in Maine and to provide guidance and feedback that can inform policy. We at the Maine Children's Alliance understand that the welfare of our children is directly linked the economic health of our communities," continued Goldberg.

The Maine Children's Alliance is a statewide, non-profit, non-partisan organization advocating on behalf of all Maine children. MCA publishes the highly regarded Maine KIDS COUNT Data Book, which provides extensive information on the well being of children in each Maine County.
