Linda McGill

An attorney with Bernstein, Shur, Sawyer & Nelson, Linda McGill's practice includes all aspects of employment and labor relations law on behalf of employers in the private, non-profit and public sectors. In addition to her representation of clients throughout Maine and New England, Ms. McGill teaches and lectures extensively on such topics as legal and practical aspects of hiring, managing and terminating employees; avoiding and defending discrimination claims, executive employment contracts and compensation; employee privacy; due process; union-management issues; and other employment law issues. She has published numerous articles in legal and professional journals, and has taught employment discrimination law as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maine School of Law. She also serves as an interest arbitrator in public sector bargaining disputes and as a mediator in employment law disputes.

Ms. McGill is the immediate Co-Chair of the Volunteer Lawyers Project Committee and serves as an advisor on improving access to the administrative law process. She was formerly Co-Chair of the Women's Law Section of the Maine State Bar Association.

Ms. McGill is a consultant with the International Senior Lawyers Project based in New York, New York. In 2003, she spent several months in New Delhi, India facilitating partnerships for pro bono assistance between private law firms in the U.S. and Europe and human rights lawyers in India.
