Bonnie Titcomb
Bonnie Titcomb began as an English and history teacher, but her social conscience prompted her to lead the fight against the siting of a nuclear waste dump in Maine. Activism led to the Maine Senate where she served on several committees and chaired the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. After that, she worked for the dropout prevention and school-to-work program, Jobs for Maine's Graduates. From there she joined Blue Cross/Blue Shield as the director of legislative and community relations in charge of charitable giving. She now serves as director of advancement for the Senator George J. Mitchell Scholarship Research Institute which offers one scholarship annually for a student from every high school in Maine.
