Maine KIDS COUNT
2010 National KIDS COUNT Data Book

Creating opportunities for all children to succeed is closely linked to how they do as infants and toddlers, and later on in school. This
2010 KIDS COUNT Data Book, an annual snapshot of the nation's children issued by the
Annie E. Casey Foundation, shows that Maine ranks 14th best among the states in the study on the well-being of America's children. The
Data Book shows that Maine improved on three of the 10 measures affecting child well-being since 2000. On five other measures, conditions worsened for Maine's kids. Two of the 10 measures were not comparable to previous years.
